lincolncultural@bellsouth.netGreetings Student of Dance,
The Lincoln Cultural Center is proud to be preparing for our tenth annual production of “The Nutcracker” A Children’s Ballet. This enchanted holiday tale is brought to life by the extremely talented youth of local dance studios right here in Lincoln County.
This production is a collaborative effort of instructors, dancers, volunteers and staff of multiple studios as well as the board, staff and volunteers of the Lincoln Cultural Center. Each of us seek to provide families an opportunity to be entertained with the excitement, enthusiasm and heartfelt warmth of the holiday season that we believe The Nutcracker provides.
Proceeds from the tw0 performances to be held Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th, help to aid the operational expense of the production, provide scholarships for the studios, and broaden the scope of the Lincoln Cultural Center’s ability to add programs to be enjoyed by the community.
Each year the Lincoln Cultural Center holds open auditions for a part in The Nutcracker. We sincerely hope that you, a dedicated student of dance, will consider auditioning.
Auditions for the individual and duet rolls will be held in the Timken Performance Hall of the Lincoln Cultural Center on Saturday, August 29th. Auditions will begin at 9:30 am, registration at 9 am. Please be aware that any solo or duo role will involve a greater commitment. Specialty roles will begin rehearsal in September.
You will find a list of all available roles and requirements that will help you prepare for the auditions. As in years past, everyone in the production must pay $25 for costume rental.
All students involved may request letters of support to substantiate their hours of service to the Lincoln Cultural Center to include time spent rehearsing, preparing and performing, from their lead instructor or from the Executive Director of the Lincoln Cultural Center.
We do hope that you will choose and be a part of this fantastic tradition.
Sincerely,
Cathy G. Davis
Executive Director
Lincoln Cultural Center
